So pretty, Rita. The relationship between the flower fang me and the leaf feels a bit funny. Maybe its the abrupt jump in value from the dark green to the highlight to the left of the flower, and the thick main vein of the leaf to the lower right of the flower. Beautiful drawing.

This is a tough flower to draw, and you’ve done a really nice job, Rita. I love love love the stem with all the buds, and the way it’s interacting with the other stem, compositionally. I agree with Sam that there’s something about that one flower that’s facing us head-on that could use some work… maybe it has to do with the depth? Perhaps some more dark in the center would help convey the “tubular” quality? I also think you could work your petal edges just a little more, so that there is some more undulation…like on the flower in the center right? (Have you ever tried slicing one of these along the vertical edge and splaying it open to get a look at the insides? 🙂
