Hi Maureen, on this peony it seems a bit unclear in the center petals. It is hard to read what is going on here structurally. These are every challenging and the petals are hard to fake. It is important to really try and analyze what each petal is doing in terms of how the petal bends and where the light and shadows will fall. I would keep at this and you will continue to improve!

I agree; I think this is a great start. Keep studying this flower and petals a bit more to try to get some more clarity in the structure. You did get some great dark details in the center!!! Those little punches of dark really help define things in the places where the petals meet and overlap.
