HI Maureen, Nice start to these peonies. Peonies are complex flowers and you are doing a good job thus far. My suggestions would be to keep your petal edges very delicate and subtle with slight edge variation . Right now some of your edges seem a bit exaggerated. Also your green leaves seem only one color of green. I would get some more yellow or blue green in there for variety. But all in all a good job here.

Have you tried studying just one or two petals? Isolating the petals may help you when it’s time to tackle the entire flower. Again, I think your dark tones here are very successful. There’s a great video at the end of the Rose Lesson; Lesson 6 Part … 5? that talks about petal edges, rolling petals, and sensitive line; check that out for some tips. 🙂 Great work, Maureen!
