Workshop Description:
Tulips are one of our favorite flowers to draw because their basic cup shape makes them approachable for beginners, while their delicate, rolling petals add a fun challenge for artists of all skill levels.
After traveling abroad last year, Wendy arrived home with a plan: plant tulips from the Netherlands on her farm in New York, and hold a spring drawing workshop. A few months ago, Wendy and helpers planted 300+ various tulip bulbs that were sourced in the Netherlands, including many varieties of parrot tulips, unusual varieties of tulips, as well as classic tulips, all of which will be available to use as inspiration.

Instructors provide live demonstrations of relevant techniques as well as constructive critiques of your work.
Class will begin at 10am in the solar-powered pavilion near the Hollengold Farm Stand, which is a covered outdoor space with a pleasant breeze in hot weather, and could be chilly in cooler weather. There is an indoor bathroom nearby as well as our store and store gallery. Feel free to show up a little early to get settled.

Recommended Supplies:
Find all of the supplies that we recommend here. Feel free to follow along with any supplies you have (your result may just end up looking a little different). We will have some art supplies available for purchase during the workshop.
Our lessons are about a combination of fundamental 3D art concepts and colored pencil and watercolor technique, so you can skip the supplies-specific tips and still learn a lot about art basics including perspective, light source, composition, etc. One of the main points we teach is colored pencil and watercolor technique for slow, continuous toning, but as long as you are able to achieve the same blending result with your chosen materials, you can still benefit from our course lessons.
Packing List Suggestions (excluding art supplies):
-Bring your own lunch to this workshop.
-Bring your own mask and your own bottle of water.
–(Optional) If you’d like to take a dip in our natural swimming pool, bring a swimsuit and towel!
–(Optional) We will be sitting on sturdy metal chairs with good back support for most of this workshop. If you require softer seating, we suggest bringing a cushion or pillow to ensure your comfort.

Cancellation Policy: In the event you cancel over 6 weeks before, a partial refund of 70% will be given if we are able to fill your spot. If we are unable to fill your spot or if you cancel less than 6 weeks before, we cannot issue a refund.
