My eye goes right away to the glowing green/yellow to the left of the lower flower centre. I love the dark recess to light glow contrast there. The green/red palette is vibrant and the red edging of the petals is wonderful. Nice, delicate striations on the petals. And the red speckling- what a journey you went on here. Thanks for bringing me along. π

Again, so rich. I love your drawings so much. We need a long piece of paper to capture the length and majesty of these guys. Beautiful crisp. papery folds/curves. π You captured it so well.

This is so gorgeous and soft and delicate. I think the splatters are what makes it! Hooray for mistakes turning into creative wins. It is very storybook too – like what is that one red berry going to get up to?

This i s very beautiful, Cathie. Nice colour palette of warms and cools. Engaging composition. The twist and seeds! (That bottom seed maybe got a bit big!) Wendy has a lesson on drawing ellipses in citrus in The Joy of Botanical Drawing, if you’d like to practice.

Oooh, agree – so wonderful. So much movement – so fun for the eye to dance around the page. I love that the magnified portion curves back toward the plant. So vibrant, full of joy.

Looks so great, Sara. The blue makes the yellow pop. I like the colours you used in the toning of the lemons. Not a big deal – but note to self for future reference -the shape of the cut lemon – the top right side of it is perhaps a bit straight, making its shape on the right look a bit like the shape of a muffin bottom instead of a curving…[Read more]

Wow! That lemon is glowing so beautifully. Excellent work on the lights to darks in that lemon. The overall colour palette is lovely also.

Yes – that dried orange really pulls me in. I love Doug’s comment – A Charlie Brown Xmas pageant as well, setting the stage for the whole play. π

Woah! Woah Woah! Wowzers. Rich, smooth, glowing.. this is good for my soul as the snow turns to freezing rain then slush up here. π Love the bend on that bottom leaf coming towards me. Those reds – so Vibrant Harriet!
