Gorgeous Colleen! Great job maintaining the pattern in both the highlight and shaded areas!!!! It is hard to take my eyes off it!

Great page Mary Jo! I particularly like the underside view of the yellow rose! I find the view of the orange rose a little confusing and I think some toning would help it read better. Nice job!!!

That is one big, round tulip Sheila! Love seeing this set of informal sketch drawings. A nice contrast to the gorgeous finished drawings I am used to seeing from you!!!!!

Thanks Pam! Wow, I hadn’t thought of that before, since her work is abstracted, but I can definitely see the relation! The obsession with pattern (dots, nets, etc) Thanks for sharing! 🙂

This postcard was in my pile of mail, and it reminded me of your art.

Thank you. I really appreciate your comments. As you have seen – I have struggled to get the shadow right in my other drawings too. I did an old crinkly leaf and got the shadow too dark!! Will try again! -

All those little shadows in those nooks and crannies are amazing. Just lovely.

Thank you Vern. Before I accidentally deleted this, Doug had suggested some additional corrections to show what is behind and in front. I plan to attempt that soon. Am in the process of taking Wendy’s “Drawing and Measuring Daffodils.” There is so much to learn and I intend to persist. Hope the Zoom classes will continue after life finds a new…

Beautiful observation, Mary Jo, I’ll look forward to seeing the next version as I make my way through the art feed here.

Gorgeous.

Thank you, Sam, for your comment. I hope to get back to the snapdragons soon and will repost. There is so much blooming here that it is difficult to decide on what to attempt to draw next.

Thank you Doug and Vern for your comments and advice. These roses are so difficult. I drew them several times from the front unsuccessfully . Then I drew them from the back several times and erased over and over.
I think I will draw the orange/pink one again and photograph it with the original specimen. All of the colors are off. I finally…

I have searched high and low for a real acorn for weeks and decided to proceed with the lesson using the printed diagrams.
Branch study – each branch uniquely different. There is a large shadow on the box (see photo) above the top branch i did not include.
So many sticks, so little time.
