Oooooh! I just love this.
-
Wow Jayne!!!! The colors, the textures, the composition!!!! Just amazing!!!!!!
-
I love this view Jayne! I think you could use more dark toning at the overlaps and a range of tones on the blueberries to enhance their form. The leaves seem small in relationship to the size of the berries.
-
Wow I love this and especially the edges.
-
I love the color palette.
-
Lovely, Jane. So much fun engaging with this page and its colour and movement.
-
Me too – great colour palette.
-
Again, great engagement thru movement and colour. If you like, you can think about your range of values – you could add more darks, and think about leaving some lighter highlights.
-
Beautiful. Maybe even darker in some Vs and Overlap areas. Or lift some highlights in the purple petals.
-
Stunner.
-
Thank you Sam! I appreciate your comments and will give it a try.

I’ve been spending way too much time on homework, so it’s been a while since I’ve used my colored pencils. Felt great to use them again, but feeling rusty for sure.

I love the bright colors. They really pop against the Kraft paper. We are surrounded by grays, browns, and a ton of white here π

Conifer cones can be hard to do, but these are very well done Dolores!!!! I think you could use dark toning (especially on the brown cone) to enhance itβs form. Great job!!!!
-
Thanks! where do I put the dark toning, do you think? Kind of in general?
-
Wow Dolores!!! What great description! I think you achieved some oneness with these cones. π On the brown cone (which is my fav) @doug-milne might mean dark toning on the right side to tone the overall form of the whole cone. So that it turns back in space and volume away from our eye. Think about the highlight on the whole large shape, and shade side.

This is beautiful Rita- I love the colors!!! I am curious as to what it is. I was thinking it was a succulent leaf, but not sure.
-
Thank you Doug – it is a prickly pear cactus leaf- and itβs very prickly- I do notice and itβs not by design, that though I like the drawing it sort of looks somewhat like a Roz chast cartoon and I am not sure why
-
Ha, ha, Rita, Roz Chast, that’s funny. I actually knew it was prickly pear right away.

Going back to basics with graphite. I’m thinking to trace the leaf and produce a coloured pencil version to contrast with the graphite. The actual leaf has started to disintegrate a bit!
