If you see what appears to be a size discrepancy between the branch and its measured counterpart, rest assured that it’s a photographic artifact, the measurements are exact. If you have comments re this type of problem when taking photos I’d be grateful for the input. My biggest challenge with this branch is including the major textures, which I’ve sketched out in the blow-ups, I count 5 to 6 overall. Also, as I hope you can see in the actual branch, the horizontal lines that create much of the very rough texture are quite dark. At what stage do you emboss if the lines you are creating need to be dark? I experimented with various sizes of embossing tools, the best are the narrow ones. But if they are added late in the game, when the drawing is already getting dark, they don’t show up much. Added too soon, and they are too light. Thanks for your help.
