Still working on these but I’m not sure how to do the half shell that is empty. I tried to draw it flat but had to erase. I used earth green to shadow the other beans but think it was too light. Any suggestions? Think I’ll do some leaves and vines around the edge and in the corner.

What beautiful beans! I agree that you could use some more shadow tones to make things look a little more 3-dimensional. If you feel like Dark Sepia is too dark, try something like Chrome Oxide Green or Warm Gray? If you have the empty shell, try lighting it with your one light source and really study the way that the tones move inside the the shell. Take a photo and really look at where you see dark tones appearing in the empty shell and try adding those in with Warm Gray to get started. This page is so fun. I think it’s a great idea to add leaves and vines! 🙂
