@petapumpkineater I think I worked on this for 3 days! A looooong time. I am a very slow draw-er. This plant, mamaki, really drew me in and held me close and wouldn’t let go. It’s used for tea in Hawaii, so I had the pleasure of drying and steeping the leaves as well and enjoying a lovely, calming tea.

Renata I adore this piece! Great job! It is mesmerizing and fun!

I think it is wonderful as is. If you want to make them more grounded you could consider putting some “ground” in (pebbles/rocks/sand kind of thing). But I don’t think this needs it. Could be fun though 🙂

Wonderful, Renata. Wonderful shadows and shading – this feels just like this plant. You really captured its qualities. Did you use indigo anywhere? Could be good in a few key dark places as the “cool” of the blue will help some areas recede. Beautiful drawing.

Nice! 6-7-8-9 can go darker. And in your yellow/brown/dark sepia work on a smoother transition from right to left 9-8-7-6.

The highlights can even move a touch more to the right, if lit from the right. If you draw a vertical and horizontal axis line, the highlight will be in the upper right quadrant.
