The Kraft paper was the perfect choice Rita! Wonderful textures and colors!

Wow Ishbel! Amazing! The colors and textures are so well done! The one area I would point out is the leaf in the center. Maybe you were intentionally keeping it plain because the flowers are the “stars”, but I think it is too plain. My eye keeps going to it. I had to enlarge the image to see that you can see a little bit of the stem between the…[Read more]

Thanks Doug. I was quite unhappy with that leaf and realized too late that it is the focal point!

A great collection of textures Rita! The subjects look wonderful on the Kraft paper!
-
Wow Rita! So striking! The colors and patterning are so well done! Love it!

The pulp looks so juicy! Great job! I think the juice emerging from the melon is too opaque. I would expect it to be more translucent. I don’t know what medium you used so it might not be able to be done.

Wow Karye! This is so beautiful! The colors and textures are stunning! Love the cast shadow too!
-
Wonderful texture Karye! The reflected light should not be so white and I would add some color to tone it down some. As I see on some of the other posts, I think you could use more color saturation on the orange. You are almost there!
-
Wonderful Colors! The reflected light on the vertical subject on the left should be toned down. The reflected light on the cut open version is great and what you are aiming for! Nice job!
-
Gorgeous colors! Probably could use more saturation. I see the sepal hanging down in the front has a cast shadow. Don’t forget that the stem and other sepals would also cast shadows. Great job!

Hi Gale- really nice job on this leaf! Your color selections and saturation are so good! You can see in the picture showing the real leaf all the conflicting light sources. The shadows are going every which way! Try to light the leaf as best you can with the correct light orientation being the strongest and minimize any other light sources. Once…[Read more]

Yes Gale! This highlight is the shape we would expect to see on an onion skin.

I love this time of year and all the colorful leaves it provides for us to draw! These look wonderful Gale! The highlights on the leaf on the top left really makes it glow! Adding more highlights (lighter areas) on the other leaves will help give them more definition. The vibrant patterning on autumn leaves can hide the highlights and toning, but…[Read more]

Wonderful drawing Gale! The one thing I would point out is the upper mushroom has nice form with the range of tones you used. I am missing them from the lower mushroom. Adding shadow tones to the cap will help enhance it’s form. Great job!
