Susan, thanks for your feedback and looking so closely. I sure wish I’d brought more Kraft paper. Who knew? -

Looking at this on my bigger computer, the colors of the pods are lovely, good contouring; and the stems are nicely varied

Looking at them on my bigger computer, the color is beautiful; and the stems are so nice with the color varying in them.

Your lemon is really beautiful. I see a faint circular pattern which seems to add to the realism of the shape of the fruit..
-
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
-
Thank you Vern! I appreciate your positive words! I have not tried drawing a cross section yet and was a bit scared to add it to this composition, in case it didn’t come out as good as the whole lemon. I’ll practice a bit before and consider adding to it
-
I adore this lemon – it is glowing right off the page. Beautiful work.
-
Thank you Sam! I’m happy that you like lemon! I really enjoyed drawing it.
-
This is stunning.

I was up to the acorn lesson, but did not have any acorns around, so I drew these urchins. Would appreciate any feedback!

Wendy, this page is great! I love the combination of elements and the color! Does the Kraft paper have a better side to work on?

think about the whole group of flowers called an inflorescence before getting so detailed in each flower. Have a good idea of your light source in your head so you can shade some flowers darker in shadow, and those lighter in the high lit areas. Here is a hydrangea I am currently working on. they are complicated and you are doing a great job On… -

Thanks Sheila. This is not something I could have attempted a year ago without Wendy’s on line course on leaves, branches and overlaps. The colours are from Wendys kit. Earth green yellowish, green olive, chrome oxide green, as well as cadmium yellow lemon and dark sepia for toning. I aso ended up using watercolour-a mix of art spectrum sap green…[Read more]

Theodora, this is beautiful: composition, colors and so many leaves! Can you tell me what green pencils you’re using? I’m not getting anywhere near the range of green you’re getting. Thanks, Sheila

Wow, this a beautiful drawing: the roots, the very dimensional peas nestled in their pods and the cause!!!

Thanks, Sam. It was definitely fun to use white and blue, almost never used them. Hablas español? -

Fresh harvested garlic and sweet peas from our Farm to Drawing Table Workshop July 24-26. We had a great weekend! Harvested at Sweet Digz Farm, Richmond, BC. More work to do on the open pea pod… this drawing was raffled off along with drawings by Wendy and Vern to support Soul Fire Farms, a BIPOC*-centered community farm committed to ending…[Read more]
