Hello all,
This is my 1st study assignment of a branch. Drawing the leaf buds took me a lot of effort. Still, I think it turned out pretty well. If you have any tips, I would love to hear them.

Welcome to the ArtFeed Ingrid! You did a great job on this branch! There is nice smooth toning and you have a good range of tones which gives the branch great form. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Welcome to the ArtFeed Eileen! All of your leaves are well drawn and you have made good color matches. You are off to a great start, but what all the leaves from your posts need is more color saturation. It is very helpful to see the actual leaves and see the intensity of their colors. As you add more layers of color (which can also be done in…[Read more]

Wonderful Jane! Those shiny red berries look like they are actual berries that you placed on the page! The leaves in comparison don’t have the same color saturation to compete with the berries. I would work on adding more color saturation and shadow toning to the leaves.

Another beautiful apple to add to your series Laurie! It has so much going for it – the patterning, colors, reflected light and cast shadow are all wonderful!

Again, you have achieved wonderful saturation! I see the great cast shadows from the leaves on the apples and I think you could have more range of dark toning on the right side of the apples to emphasize their form.

This is stunning James! It is beautifully rendered and the rich, saturated colors are wonderful!

A wonderful illustration James! Amazing detail work! I see a cast shadow on the pink pan, but not on the ladle or shoe horn and I would expect them to also have cast shadows.

Thank you for the feedback. I like the idea of attaching the whole peach to another branch. I started this composition in the Peaches workshop last year.
