Yes this is better but you can push it more by sometimes getting the silk darker in spots like the soft hit or miss outline on a white flower. Do some practice versions so you don’t have to worry about making it perfect!

I love how you captured how the light makes the silk shimmer. So beautiful.

I tried to make the seeds feel less heavy and stiff than in my previous milkweed drawings, as suggested. I think itβs better, but would love feedback and suggestions.

Thanks! I was pretty happy with this and it is so satisfying to work with something a bit more complex. Greece inspired me! 😀

Two webinars ago, Vern suggested that I break up the highlight on this branch a little bit. I have done that, and I can see that it helps the drawing. Thank you for the helpful input!

Love seeing some tropicals! Baby coconuts are always a great subject!

I think your embossing looks very natural and subtle. The key is to mix embossing with other techniques and also to tone inside the embossed lines so it isn’t only one value inside the embossing. Either some watercolor painted inside in places or with a very sharp pencil go inside the veins to add some tones.

Perhaps adding in some cut cross section or slices will fill out the composition! Plus the bonus is seeing the contrast of color in the inside of the potato!
