Remember to put your highlights in your stalks too. They are cylinders. 🙂 I like how Wendy will load up her brush with a color and then hold it right up tp the plant to check if she likes it. Let’s keep experimenting and being willing to make mistakes. 🙂

Hi Doug: you know, the magenta of this flower is so intense that it’s flat; so I added the toning but I think it changed the character of the flower. I’ll try again. They bloom all summer. Thanks, Sam. Welcome aboard to Botanicals. I had tired of working on this; but with some space now, I’ll take your cues and add stem and leaves. I’m experimenting with another neutral color for toning s pale pink like this. I felt the dark sepia was too heavy. Maybe even a grey would work, or mauve (too purple?). I’ll play with it for the next one.

I feel like I have a heavy hand in my shading and toning–I’ll keep working to create contrasts without shading everything!
